History: Named in 1902 by S.C. Luigi Brugnatelli in honor of Ettore Artini (1866-1928), Professor of Mineralogy, University of Milan.
Tests: Artinite dissolves readily in dilute cold acids, with effervescence. It does not fuse, but gives off water and carbon dioxide when it is heated in a flame.
